tnAchieves COMPLETE coaches make their dent in the universe by showing up every day for students. More tangibly, this service-driven position proactively works with students as they transition from high school to institutions of higher education. They ensure students complete critical college milestones like filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and working through the admissions process. They are part of a cohort of coaches and a larger team dedicated to closing equity gaps plaguing the education pipeline. This means thinking creatively and working intentionally to connect with students who are at risk to level the playing field to a college credential.
During the academic year, there will be travel to the college campus at least twice weekly to meet with students in person and at least one day onsite in the Knoxville office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with students and parents
Attend FAFSA and TN Promise application days as needed
Prepare student meeting packets
Conduct student meetings at high schools and college campuses
Maintain databases relevant to region including demographic and contact information updates
Serve as public advocate for program and raise awareness with community at large
Process confidential and non-routine information including, but not limited to, community service verification, student meeting attendance, processing student excuse forms and ineligibility arguments with post-secondary institutions
Assist with mentor recruiting and trainings
Assist with planning, application processing and administering tnAchieves Summer Programs
Develop relationships with key post-secondary partners to gain knowledge of post-secondary processes and student resources
Track communication with college students in database
Report monthly COMPLETE interventions via COMPLETE dashboard
Attend weekly meeting with Managing COMPLETE coach prepared with status update
Attend monthly meeting with Director of COMPLETE prepared with monthly update
SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required
Willingness to have a positive mindset and a can-do attitude
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to cultivate relationships
Ability to problem solve
Willingness to travel regionally when necessary
