At Catapult, we are helping our member, Southern Pipe, Inc., hire a Purchasing Clerk with a strong administrative background. This position is 100% onsite in New London, NC. Candidates should be able to work on-site at this location daily.

Job description As our Purchasing Clerk, you will support the business and purchasing department activities by ordering supplies and raw materials. You will report directly to the Director of Finance/Administration, providing administrative support and maintaining inventory and purchase records throughout the procurement process. You may also participate in vendor relationship management, identifying cost-saving opportunities to support our company's profitability goals.
Principal Responsibilities:
Compile requests for materials and machinery
Prepare and track purchase orders
Handle inquiries about purchase orders
Gather information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services
Monitor inventory
Perform buying duties when necessary
Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries
Compare prices, specifications and delivery dates to assist in determine the best bid
Receive in all purchases
Receive and post orders
Assure allocation of orders to appropriate department
Track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, and calculate relevant costs
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements - Qualifications & Experience
Minimum High School diploma or GED
Strong administrative support experience required
Purchasing experience preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Strong relationship management and communication skills
