Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to oversee and optimize our client's procurement processes, with a specific focus on managing multi-state and international purchasing operations. The Director of Procurement will play a critical role in developing and executing procurement strategies that ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies that align with company goals and objectives
Lead a team responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers/vendors across multiple states and international markets
Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors, negotiate contracts, and establish strategic partnerships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliability of supply
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations, to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and mitigate supply chain risks
Monitor and analyze procurement performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to drive cost savings and operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to procurement activities
Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, with demonstrated success in multi-state and international purchasing roles
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and sourcing strategies
Experience leading procurement teams and managing vendor/supplier relationships in a multi-state or global environment
Proficiency in contract negotiation, supplier/vendor management, and procurement software/tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
