Position Summary
Quality Control Manager (CM) is responsible for planning, performing, and directing quality assurance and quality control policies, programs, and initiatives for different trades in executing construction management projects. Responsible for ensuring quality standards are met on every project and to collaborate with others in making positive changes and Lexicon's visionary purpose.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, organize, perform, control, and direct the activities of Quality Control personnel to assure compliance with different trades applicable in most construction management projects, contract documents and quality management system.
Train and assist quality control inspectors in interpreting technical and quality control requirements in accordance with ASCE, ACI, AISC, ASME, AWS, RCSC, SSPC and other codes for mechanical, plumbing, electrical and instrumentation and contract requirements.
Monitor inspection requirements, acceptance criteria, disposition of NCR's and the retention of quality control records.
Works closely with heads of other trades to continuously improve quality and work processes.
Administer the Quality Assurance Program effectively in its application to subcontractors and assist the Purchasing Manager in its application to vendors.
Inform the Purchasing Manager of quality requirements and collaborate with him/her in evaluation of procurement sources based on Quality Assurance requirements.
Conduct surveillance, as necessary to assure the adequacy of the Quality Assurance Program and revise as necessary for continuous improvement.
Review all new quality system documents and procedures, revise existing procedures as required, approve, log and distribute to applicable personnel.
Responsible for adhering to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
The ability to work long hours as necessary to keep the projects running smoothly.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of QA/QC experience in construction management projects involved in civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other trades is a plus.
Familiarity with ASCE, ACI, AISC, ASME, AWS, RCSC, SSPC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing requirements is required.
Must have supervisory experience.
A Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Physical Demands
Requires occasional travel with overnight stays.
