Job Description:

The Quality Manager's position is to ensure products and services meet quality standards and procedures are met as well as creating quality control inspection methods to reduce the error rate.

Responsibilities/Tasks:


  • Collaborate with management team to set quality benchmarks.

  • Create standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.

  • Identify quality control processes to ensure criteria are met at all times.

  • Execute tests to check final product adherence to the company standards.

  • Record findings and relay this information to the product team.

  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications.

  • Maintain records of all product defects, complaints, or other issues that could affect product quality.

  • Establish guidelines for testing and inspecting materials to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Creating, editing, and coordinating updates to system and process documentation, diagrams, and procedures as needed.

  • Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards. Reports results to supervisor who will make an analysis and take necessary action.

  • Complete root cause analysis and corrective action for any defects noted and document.

  • Records results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found. Posts and maintains forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels, or special quality studies.

  • Makes recommendation on disposition of questionable product to supervisor.

  • Maintain all quality control documentation.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in production methods and recommending changes in equipment, materials or processes.

Education/Experience:

Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment.

High school or technical school education, or equivalent, with mathematics emphasis.

Considerable mental and visual effort.

SpecificKnowledge, Skills, License, Etc.:


  • Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment

  • Quality orientation and attention to detail

  • Problem analysis and problem resolution

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to train employees

  • Computer experience preferred. Specifically in Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint.

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure.

  • Ability to do simple percentage calculations and log data.
