The Battle.net & Online Products organization is home to 300+ super-powered engineers, program managers, and designers focused on the technology that powers Blizzard Entertainment's games. The Battle.net Identity team is responsible for the development of foundational account services used by all players on the web, in-game and on mobile. We build and maintain key services such as login, signup, recovery and settings which see millions of players every day. It is our mission to deliver secure, stable and performant services coupled with intuitive and delightful interfaces for our players as they play our games and interact with the larger Battle.net platform.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Identity team's portfolio of Battle.net services including, login , signup, recovery and settings


• Gather requirements, produce technical designs and deliver features spanning across both back and front-end applications


• Work closely with game development teams and immediate partners in design and product to deliver AAA quality features for our players


• Review code, write tests and respond to issues with our critical live service

Requirements

• 5 + years of professional web software development experience


• Experience writing Java web applications using Spring Framework


• Experience writing HTML/CSS/JS


• Experience writing scalable non-blocking applications using asynchronous frameworks like Reactor


• Strong understanding of algorithms, data- s tructures and design patterns

Bonus

• Experience securing web applications from common exploits (like XSS, CSRF and other injections)


• Experience writing modern front-end Javascript using frameworks like (React, Vue, Angular )


• Experience leveraging Oauth 2.0 for application authorization


• Experience using intermediary caches (like Redis) to optimize application performance


• Experience using Remote Procedure Calls between services and using binary message formats


• Experience using WebSocket for bidirectional communication between services


• Experience with Kubernetes and public cloud deployments (AWS, Azure)

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
