The Opportunity: PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE - Ellison 4 / Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Ellison 4 is Surgical ICU unit caring for a wide variety of surgical and trauma patients. The patient population is diverse and includes general, thoracic, trauma, vascular, orthopedic, gynecologic, and obstetric surgeries. Our goal is to provide the highest quality patient centered care to patients and families for a successful and safe hospital experience.


PCA assists multi-disciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs. Must be able to work 8 or 12-hour shifts e/o weekend, e/o holiday, various shifts.


Skills


PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Qualifications


  • Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care.




  • Preferred: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR




  • Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
