Purpose/Introduction This posting is for a DCS Specialist position for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company located at the Sweeny Complex. The successful candidate would have demonstrated experience as a DCS Specialist preferably with a minimum of 3 years' plant maintenance experience supporting a refining or chemical manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and provide technical support on DCS hardware and software.
  • Perform DCS software troubleshooting and patching, and hardware repair and upgrade, including existing instrumentation and 3rd party system interfaces via Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system.
  • Maintain DCS hot spares and parts inventory.
  • Develop and manage the documentation of system standards, maintenance procedures, control system architecture, etc.
  • Manage control system backups and recovery.
  • Participate in DCS improvements and upgrade/migration projects.
  • Provide input and assistance with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure equipment meets manufacturers' standards prior to deployment.
  • Provide support & security for the process control network including off-hour callouts.
  • Create and provide instruction for training on DCS related subjects as needed.
  • Assist with the development and execution of Operational Readiness action items required for maintenance and reliability.
Required Qualifications
  • Technical certification or associates degree in instrumentation or electrical, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Yokogawa DCS and/or Honeywell or equivalent DCS in a petrochemical or refining facility.
  • Proficient with the hardware and software components of Yokogawa DCS, and/or Honeywell TPS and Experion.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills for supporting all aspects of the process control infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with PLC systems such as Allen Bradley and/or Triconex
  • Experience with Control System networking and IT Infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Alarm Management Software (such as Plant State Suite)
  • Familiarity with Yokogawa PRM and/or Honeywell FDM
