Position Summary


The Brunswick Job Corps Center operated by Adams is hiring a Programs Director to join the Center leadership team. The ideal candidate has experience and expertise in managing a high performing Social Development Department that provides enriching residential and recreation services to students. They have a track record of cultivating student-centered culture in a Job Corps Center with the ability to: manage multiple priorities including staff development and performance management; write and implement program plans; measure and report on student outcomes; and respond to government requests for information.

Responsibilities include:


Student Services:

  • Provide students with educational and career technical training leading to academic and career technical training leading to program completion.
  • Provide highly impact career transition program that prepares students for quality placements.
  • Provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management that results in student progress, achievement and completion of the Job Corps program, along with timely placements.
  • Provide students with structured and engaging non-class hour activities and extended training day programs to include leadership, student government, independent living skills and other special programs to enrich student Job Corps experience.
  • Utilize student-centered approach to foster a culture of respectful accountability in which you and staff take swift and appropriate action and positively influence student behavior.

Community Engagement

  • Develop Center-beneficial linkages within the community for enrollment, education, employment, Career Technical Training, Work-based Learning (externship) placements, and quality placements that match student skills and provide competitive wages.
  • Promote a positive image of the Center and the Job Corps program by establishing meaningful relationships with elected officials.

Leadership and Staff Management

  • Fill staff vacancies in a timely manner by sourcing for applicants through utilizing professional networks and community partners, and conducting timely interviews for qualified candidates.
  • Develop a highly engaged team by setting clear expectations, motivating, empowering, and training staff. Create a supportive work environment that recognizes staff for accomplishments and proactively addresses performance and/or behavioral concerns.



About Brunswick Job Corps Center


The Brunswick Job Corps Center is located in Brunswick, GA, on the southern portion of Georgia's scenic Golden Isles coastline. The Brunswick Center is a member of the "Adams Family." The Center serves 315 residential students, primarily from the state of Georgia. It offers vocational training in 11 trades, primarily in the healthcare and construction pathways. The Center offers multiple high school diploma and equivalency options. The contract includes recruitment for nearly 2,000 participants each year from northern Georgia, the Atlanta metro area and south and east to the Florida border.

Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of five years of experience in education, training, residential/group living or related field required: two years of which must be supervisory experience. Job Corps or related program experience highly preferred.
  • A valid in-state teaching certificate preferred.
