The Legal Department at Howmet Aerospace invites college graduates interested in attending law school to participate in its Legal Intern Program. Your education is just the beginning - you'll become an active member of our Corporate Legal team, reporting to the Chief Litigation Counsel located in Pittsburgh, PA. You'll tackle real-world challenges through impactful assignments, and work alongside our industry changemakers.

This program will provide interns with the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas of a corporate law department. Depending on the candidate's interest and background, project work could include discrete research projects, contract review, and drafting legal alerts and other internal communications, and relate to areas such as intellectual property, regulatory, real estate, environmental, labor and employment, litigation and compliance.

Schedules are flexible and remote opportunities are available, with an expectation that the intern will work part-time and a minimum of 10 hours/month.

During this internship, you'll have the opportunity to:


  • Support a variety of projects depending on Department needs at the time and your specific areas of interest, viewing issues and fact patterns from a corporate legal perspective.
  • Work alongside seasoned attorneys and other legal professionals, various departments and/or vendors to gather information needed for projects.
  • Present project results to department personnel.
  • Conduct research using the internet and other sources of information.
