As an IT Project Manager within a global construction management firm, you will serve as a vital intermediary between various disciplines and departments, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage IT projects, from initiation to completion, while effectively communicating and coordinating with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations. This is a new role for our IT organization, and you will have the opportunity to build out the IT project management framework and function in an exciting and ever evolving IT landscape. This role will report directly into the head of Technology and help shape the future of the company.



Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, scheduling, and execution of IT projects ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and document comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate IT resources, including personnel and technology infrastructure, to support project execution.
  • Act as a liaison between IT teams, group services, operations, and leadership stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve conflicts, and address concerns.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on project progress, milestones achieved, and potential risks or issues.
  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery or quality, and proactively develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Monitor project performance indicators, such as budget adherence, timeline compliance, and quality standards, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on the use of IT tools and systems, ensuring smooth transition and optimal utilization.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders and incorporate suggestions for continuous improvement into project plans and processes.
  • Implement robust governance frameworks and documentation practices to maintain transparency, accountability, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create effective collaboration suites utilizing tools like MS Teams and/or SharePoint.
  • Manage comprehensive view of all major IT projects and timelines occurring within the company.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience (3 years) in IT project management roles, preferably within a geographically dispersed company.
  • Familiarity with construction management processes, technologies, and terminology is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g. MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and cultures.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
