TITLE: Assistant Professor 10 Months, Department of Criminal Justice and Public Affairs (Public Administration)

Kean faculty members are recognized for teaching distinction, scholarship and service. We are excited to grow our faculty and invite applications for an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Public Affairs. This is a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignment. Teaching assignments may be assigned at any of Kean's New Jersey locations - Union, Ocean, Princeton, Skylands or for Kean Online and may include day, evening and weekend courses. Evening hours are required for teaching graduate course assignments.
All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental, college, university and community level is required. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is also required, consistent with University guidelines.
DUTIES:
Kean University is seeking an Assistant Professor to develop and teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in the Public Administration program's concentration in healthcare administration. Develop a program of scholarly activity. Provide service to the University and the College of Business and Public Management and demonstrate leadership within the area of expertise. The MPA Program offers degrees in public, non-profit and health administration. While the area of specialization is open, the successful candidate must be able to teach courses in the general public and healthcare administration curriculum, with particular expertise in healthcare policy and management across various types of healthcare organizations. The position will primarily be responsible for contributing to a growing faculty research capacity in healthcare systems and services. Teaching responsibilities will include both core and elective courses. This position requires a commitment to collegiality, innovation in teaching and learning, professional development and academic citizenship. Faculty are expected to participate in academic advisement, student mentoring, academic assessment and other activities.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D, DrPH, MD, DHS, or Ed.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution or terminal degree in the field of specialization or closely related discipline is required. Area of expertise should specifically be in Health Services or Health Care Administration. Candidates should be familiar with technology-supported learning pedagogy and be able to integrate technology into their teaching pedagogy.
