The University Photographer/Digital Storyteller will curate compelling visual content. As the primary photographer, responsibilities include shooting events and portraits, editing, organizing, and selecting images for social media. You'll also conduct interviews and capture moments that tell the unique stories of our vibrant academic community. RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with campus creatives to create visually excellent photographs
.Develop and train student creatives in the art of storytelling and photo capture
.Fulfills high-priority/risk requests and events
Helps develop and enforce the visual language/brand of the University.
Facilitate photo meetings to assign projects and assess current progress
Processes campus photo requests (approve and deny)
Edit and organize all photographs taken for the University
Hire, train, and oversee social media, student interns
Work under pressure and meet deadlines
Maintain positive interpersonal relationships
Work independently
Provide quality customer service
Bachelor's degree
Additional duties as assigned
Approve student features
Train student storytellers
Headshots and group shots for departments, athletics, and Cabinet
Assist with social media content
Able to choose photos that maintain excellence for social media
Strong interviewing skills for storytelling
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
Great organizational skills; ability to monitor hard drives and keep photos organized
Excellent communication skills
Good leadership skills in organizing student interns Adept at community building and keeping calm under high-pressure interactions
Tech-savvy for creating visuals, and collaborating with other creatives
Learn and utilize Monday.com for project management
Ability to meet the needs of photography requests
An understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equity
Strong verbal communication skills
Proficient in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop; Premier Pro
A good understanding of artificial lighting
Ability to shoot in Manual mode
Ability to maintain an organized studio and work with lighting
Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced work environment
Novice Social media and video skills preferred but not required
Supervision Received:
Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
