MAGTF Warfighting SME

The Scenario Development Lead/Warfighting Subject Matter Expert (SME) reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the MCLOG Project Manager. The Scenario Development Lead/Warfighting SME will develop and assist in managing the overall exercise scenario and related products in close coordination with MCLOG personnel by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops scenario and supporting materials to support exercise operational planning and execution and assists the project manager in the prioritization of support provided by scenario designers to MCLOG.
Analyze, develop, validate, and document exercise design products in conjunction with MCLOG personnel to meet current training objectives for service specific exercises and courses. Provide support for MCLOG formal schools and learning programs.
Review relevant studies, briefs, and documents to identify gaps that should be considered for integration into the scenario and exercises.
Design and develop relevant adversary plans and background to support the scenario.
Leads the development of country fact books, component/MEF/MEB-level OPORDs and FRAGORDs as appropriate in support of exercise scenario development.
Assist MCLOG planners and action officers on training audience staff to develop briefs/orders/products, as required in support of expeditionary advanced base operations and full spectrum combat operations ashore.
Supports MCLOG EXCON by filling a key billet as required.
Assists the customer in training both government and contractor incoming exercise design team members.
Warfighting SME. Develop, coordinate, synchronize, and assist in managing MSELs during training exercise execution.
Participate in debriefs and after-action reviews immediately following exercises MCLOG facilitated or participated in.
Submit key insights, lessons learned, and best practices and participate in the Trends Reversal Reinforcement Process via established formats and procedures following each exercise.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree required.
Completion of Marine Corps University career level school at the appropriate level or service equivalent is required.
Candidates must have at least 10 years of military service as an officer in combat arms or logistics.
Senior level candidates must have at least 20 years of military service as an officer, served on a MEB staff or higher, and must be well versed in the Marine Corps Planning Process.
Experience writing MAGTF or joint operations orders at the MEB/brigade level or higher.
The ideal candidate is a retired field grade officer who has experience working on a O6 staff or higher, with at least three years of exercise development and control experience.

Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office.
Familiarity with C2PC desired.
Familiarity with current trends, doctrine, and systems in use by the Marine Corps.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
Occasional travel may be required.
Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
A NATO Secret Clearance is required for this position.
