Job Description:

Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Medical Assistant.


  • Position type: Fulltime -Contract to Hire

  • Location: Syracuse, New York

  • Job/ Shift Hours: Monday - Friday
As a
Medical Assistant, you will:
  • Responsible for maintaining clinic flow by assisting the providers and other nursing staff with clinical needs.
  • Performing patient check-in, including obtaining and recording vital signs, height, weight, medications, and allergies.
  • Reviewing previously entered medications and update as appropriate -Prepare patient and perform electrocardiogram (EKG).
  • Recognizing and providing alert to specific abnormal values during check-in process.
  • Preparing patient for examination as appropriate, including explaining what to expect during visit.
  • Providing emergency care including CPR.
  • Performing checkup, PT/INR testing and fingerstick testing.
  • Documenting and reporting the result to provider and instructing the patient on any medication changes based on result.
  • Transmitting prescription refills as directed to pharmacy provided by patient -Using electronic medical record as appropriate and documenting correctly.
  • Updating and file patient medical records -Handle clinical correspondence appropriately.
  • Answering nursing phone calls and recording information appropriately -Appropriately relaying triage/symptoms to RN/LPN staff and/or provider as appropriate in a timely
The ideal candidate will have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Certified as a Medical Assistant (CMA, MA, RMA or CCMA).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology -Ability to learn computer applications as applicable to role.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $20 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
