LOCATION: Design and Development Facility (ARDS), Eglin AFB, FL – On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential job functions include operation and maintenance of various instrumentation systems for land, sea, and airborne vehicles, which requires knowledge in RF Datalinks, Network Communication, Fiber Optics, and GPS operations.

This position requires a high level of interpersonal skill, and the ability to handle very sensitive, proprietary and confidential situations and information. Incumbents must demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy and must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. The position requires a variety of high-level computer software applications experience, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials. Establishing priorities and meeting deadlines are critical to this position. Incumbents must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. Incumbents routinely exercise independent judgment and creativity to meet the requirements of this position.

GENERAL DUTIES: Duties include maintenance, installation, mission configuration and modifications of ARDS, ARDS-lite, SeaCAN and CRIIS TSPI systems and their associated ground stations, various specialized instrumentation systems to include MANPADS Telemetry systems, and specialized software applications, which are used to provide mobile TSPI mission support on test ranges. TDY will be required to support testing at remote test ranges.

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may include PIPR, Safety, and TMDE representative. Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas. May be required to prepare technical reports and papers, and to provide guidance and supervision for technicians and lower-level field engineers. May be required to perform housekeeping duties in assigned work areas. Some duties will require working on Eglin and other flight lines and will require a Restricted Area Badge.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate with ten years’ applicable experience in evaluating system problems and must be proficient in the performance of circuit analysis to the component level. Must have working knowledge of 3 or more of the following: RF, Network communication, Video, Fiber Optic, and GPS systems. A CompTIA Security+ certification is highly desired.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. Applicant is required to have a valid Drivers' License and a Class "B" CDL is also highly desired. Audiometric and Laser Eye exams will also be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Applicant must have manual dexterity to perform repairs, modification as well as the ability to lift or carry bulky items weighing 50lbs.
