Intro and job overview:

The Senior Director of Corporate Revenue Accounting plays a key leadership role in overseeing the corporate revenue accounting function within Precisely. This senior-level position involves policy establishment and management, implementing and maintaining operations supporting GAAP reporting, financial analysis, and collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards. The individual in this role reports to the Vice President, Revenue Accounting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Strategic Leadership: Establish and maintain revenue policies, whitepapers, and technical memos. Develop and implement operational strategies and associated controls for effective revenue recognition and accounting processes. Collaborate with executive leadership to align corporate revenue goals with overall corporate objectives.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely SSP establishment, testing, and periodic review of Performance Obligation allocations, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Stakeholder in product and system launches, providing proactive technical accounting and operational requirements. Manage Royalty, Strategic Partnership, and Channel Incentive and operations and accounting. Stakeholder in M&A activity during diligence and integration.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of revenue accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and ensure team members are well-trained.
Process Management, Optimization, and Monitoring: Establish, maintain, and monitor revenue team standard operating procedures, controls, training, and approved templates. Catalog and maintain use cases including standard and non standard variations of selling motions, commercial sales plays, and professional services offerings, to facilitate UAT, regression testing, readiness, and enablement efficiency. Continuously evaluate and enhance revenue accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and stay updated on changes in accounting regulations impacting revenue recognition.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Product, Engineering, Channels, Sales, Legal, Pricing and Finance, to ensure alignment in revenue recognition policies and procedures. Collaborate with external auditors to support the audit process.
Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant. Assess and mitigate risks associated with revenue recognition.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting including migrating to a subscription model, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Public accounting audit experience required.
Extensive knowledge of revenue recognition principles, accounting standards (ASC 606), internal controls and financial reporting.
NetSuite ERP and ARM experience preferred.
5% travel is required.
