o Performs all routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures; demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices, according to department policy and procedure.
o Receives consultation request, checking for special instructions from the requesting Physician consults with the radiologist as necessary.
o Greets patients pleasantly, confirming their identification by using two identifiers, (name and date of birth), and introducing yourself
o Explains examination procedure completely to the patient, and their family if present.
o Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, carrier, and radiographic tables.
o Evaluates every image before sending to PACS for technical quality, proper patient positioning, correct identification stamp, and right and left markers, with no omissions annually.
o Updates patient exam file; records unusual conditions or limitations documents film usage. Confirms proper billing information 100% of the time. Performs other paperwork as applicable.
o Assists with the administration of contrast media when necessary, always practicing aseptic technique.
o Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, eliminating outdated items.
o Telephones results when requested, with no more than one omission annually.
