Position: Ophthalmic Bench Technician
Location: Davie-Fort Lauderdale Campus
NSU's Health department is seeking an Ophthalmic Bench Technician for the Davie Campus.
Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate ophthalmic prescription lenses, ensuring accuracy and quality in accordance with ANSI standards.
2. Monitor patient eyewear orders, utilize relevant systems for lens acquisition, and ensure timely delivery and high patient satisfaction.
3. Maintain lab records and inventory for efficient operations and inventory control.
4. Maintain ophthalmic equipment, order supplies, and coordinate equipment repairs.
5. Create patient eyewear orders, select appropriate frames and lenses, and provide accurate measurements to ensure patient satisfaction.
6. Perform spectacle repairs, adjustments, lens verifications, and provide patient education.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in an optical facility
Preferred Qualifications:
1. State of Florida Optician License
2. Bilingual in Spanish/English
