The Select Group is looking for a talented Design System Designer to join one of our top healthcare partners. This person will assist with their initiative to revamp their global design system. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating and adapting to challenges, such as building Figma components with variables and documenting usage/best practices. This person will be a key partner in developing and updating production processes and workflows, creating templates and design tools, managing component libraries, and ensuring the accuracy of the associated specifications.
DESIGN SYSTEM DESIGNER REQUIREMENTS
5-10 years of UI/UX or Interaction Design experience
Expertise in Figma (auto layout, variables, and components/component properties)
Experience with projects creating design systems that support multiple platforms/projects
Understanding of UI patterns, grid frameworks, digital styles, and components
Knowledge of basic coding (CSS, HTML, Basic Markup)
Portfolio required with submission
Bonus skills:
Experience with zeroheight
In-depth understanding of design tokens and Figma variables
Basic understanding of React framework and MUI
DESIGN SYSTEM DESIGNER RESPONSIBILITIES
Evolve and document design foundations such as color, typography, and iconography with the design systems teams
Contribute to design system naming strategy and implementation
Establish and fine-tune checklists for icon and component creation
Develop and maintain component tracking matrix
Help define and leverage best practices with variables, tokens, and component creation
Create, revise, and maintain individual component files
Work with Product Owners to document platform-specific patterns
Execute the team's communications plan
Provide detailed design documentation for existing components and patterns
Update and maintain design system component documentation in Zeroheight
Help develop and maintain both team and cross-functional processes
Update and maintain templates for key product screens and flows
Troubleshoot issues with design files (layer structure/organization)
Provide help/guidance in relevant feedback groups
Conduct extensive design audits through different platform libraries
