(Contingent upon available funding): 47,700.00 - 51,300.00, Salary Work Schedule: M / F, 8:00am to 5:00pm, nights and weekends as needed. Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Advise and support students throughout the application, placement, abroad, and returnee phases of Reciprocal Exchange, National Student Exchange, and Affiliated/Approved Programs for OUTBOUND participants.Advise and provide continuing support throughout the application, acceptance, enrollment and arrival process for INBOUND exchange students, including both Reciprocal Exchange and National Student Exchange. Serve as their OSU Academic Advisor.Evaluate courses to be taken abroad for OSU equivalence and advise OUTBOUND participants on all aspects of the outbound exchange academic credit process.Develop relationships with program coordinators at partner universities and academic advisors, faculty and department heads in the OSU colleges. Assist with partner curriculum mapping efforts. Monitor exchange balances with all partner universities. Assist the Study Abroad Director with other duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree and five years of experience in a related setting.

Administrative experience that could include budgetary authority or similar levels of
responsibility with unit programs and/or student groups; supervisory experience to
include interviewing, training and development, etc. of employees and/or student leaders;
and/or coordination of special projects.

High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Access, Banner or other intra-university information system, and Terra Dotta Studio Abroad software

Strong communication, advising, organizational and team membership skills.

Acute attention to detail required in order to ensure accuracy of work product and/or advising responsibilities.

Commitment to excellence in service while working with students, academic advisors, faculty, and administrators in the US and abroad.

Interest in professional development and commitment to the field of international education.

Effective and professional problem solving.

Flexibility in work assignments in order to effectively prioritize responsibilities.



Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree with international focus; foreign language, comparative education, or a similarly related field.

Experience in university administration including understanding of university admissions procedures, international admissions, financial aid, and academic advising.

Understanding of visa and immigration issues for both domestic and international students on both entering and exiting the US and other countries.

Understanding of US and foreign educational systems and experience in evaluating foreign academic credentials and assigning OSU course equivalencies.

Previous experience in a Study Abroad or international office setting working with a diverse student population including international students.

Experience using Terra Dotta HTML

International living, study, or travel experience.

Strong intercultural communication skills and diversity appreciation

Proficiency in a language other than English

Knowledge of current events related to international issues

Ability to teach a one-credit study abroad class
