Our client is a leading leading publicly traded company in Los Angeles. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join their team and oversee tax provisions.
Responsibilities:
As the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax provisions and related financial reporting. Your key responsibilities include:
Tax Provision Preparation:
Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (formerly FASB ASC 740) and other relevant accounting standards.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax provision calculations and related documentation.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review tax-related financial statement disclosures, including footnotes and supporting schedules.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the review and audit of tax provisions.
Tax Accounting Policies:
Develop and maintain tax accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Stay informed of changes in accounting standards and tax laws impacting tax provisions.
Tax Forecasting and Planning:
Assist in tax forecasting and planning activities to optimize tax positions and minimize tax liabilities.
Provide insights and analysis to support strategic tax decisions.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance tax provision processes and streamline workflow efficiencies.
Implement best practices and automation tools to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation required.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in tax roles preferably with public accounting and private industry experience
Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and other relevant accounting standards related to tax provisions.
Experience with tax provision software and financial reporting systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software.
