The Account Relations Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our carrier partners. This includes managing and developing carrier partnerships, pursuing new business development, and ensuring the correct, diversified mix of products is available for our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned insurance carriers, fostering productive and collaborative relationships
Research/engage carriers to provide insurance programs for all P&C business
Negotiate contracts for favorable terms related to compensation and coverage
Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including underwriting, marketing, and finance, as a subject matter expert to aid in business growth
Monitor market trends and maintain industry knowledge to identify opportunities and proactively adjust to changing market conditions
Attain defined Key Performance Indicators
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent
Minimum three years experience in the property & casualty insurance industry, preferably working with insurance carriers
Solid understanding of property & casualty products, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building successful relationships with key stakeholders
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes that favor both parties
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
