Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a CPA or CMA designation and expertise in cost accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various financial aspects of our organization, particularly focusing on cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis and Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting methodologies to ensure accurate tracking of expenses and allocation of costs.
Analyze manufacturing processes and product costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
Monitor variances between actual and budgeted costs, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.
Provide insights into cost drivers and profitability metrics to assist management in optimizing resource allocation and pricing strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards in all financial reporting activities.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts, incorporating cost projections and revenue estimates.
Monitor budget performance throughout the fiscal year, identifying variances and communicating findings to stakeholders.
Collaborate with department heads to develop cost-effective strategies and initiatives to achieve financial targets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required.
5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on cost accounting.
Proficiency in cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation methodologies.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Experience in manufacturing or other cost-intensive industries is a plus.
