Position Summary
The Home Health Growth Consultant is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Home Health Growth Consultant is responsible for identifying markets of opportunity and securing market penetration for Compassus' Home Health programs/Ascension at Home, together with Compassus, to fulfill our vision to transform lives as the most valued partner for person-centered care delivered to where people live. S/he partners with home health program leaders in developing Books of Business and growth strategies for the home health programs in his/her area of responsibility, as well as participating in the recruiting, hiring, and training of new growth staff. S/he oversees home health program growth, assists in ensuring the growth team's execution of the growth plan, and ensures the professional development of growth staff. S/he has a strong partnership with the clinical leaders and team members and serves as a growth resource to all staff. Additionally, s/he may assist in the start-up of new home health locations or programs as directed.

Position Specific Responsibilities
  • Creates, manages, and is responsible for the success of the "Book of Business" for the Home Health Care Consultant(s).
  • Monitors all growth metrics, including contacts, closing, conversions and payor mix; communicates progress toward goals.
  • Serves as a growth resource to all team members, both growth and clinical, in support of the Growth goal.
  • Assures that the key growth fundamentals are executed with the goal of increasing the Home Health Care Consultant's closing percentages.
  • Assists program leadership in planning and presenting educational, informational, and marketing programs to area professional groups.
  • Collaborates with Compassus Medical Directors and Directors of Clinical Services to ensure advocacy for access in the community.
  • Monitors and reports on issues affecting the business, including competitive pressures, talent, recruiting, market/industry movements, and other challenges that impact business unit performance.
  • De Novo Expansion Responsibilities:
    • Leads the entry into new markets, specializing in establishing de novo home health programs.
    • Works with the Hospice teams, as necessary to build upon established relationships with referral partners, that have patients who would benefit from Home Health care.
    • Formulates strategies for successful market penetration.
    • Utilizes advanced relationship-building skills to establish and nurture connections with key stakeholders in new markets.
    • Engages in networking activities to promote awareness of Ascension at Home and Compassus services in the community.
    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth launch of de novo programs.
    • Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and training of growth staff specifically for de novo locations.
    • Supports the operational aspects of de novo programs until successful establishment.
    • Manages the seamless handover to local leadership and the home health care consultant(s) once the de novo program is operational and sustainable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Education And/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA or related degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience leading growth teams strongly preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience selling services within the healthcare field is preferred.
Skills
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
