KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting has partnered with a local services organization in the Ossipee, NH area who is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including month-end close activities, reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll backup, and audit assistance.
Responsibilities:
Prepares journal entries for various accounts, Maintains schedules for prepaids and accruals, updates monthly reporting packages with accurate financial data.
Processes weekly bank deposits in a timely manner.
Ensures accuracy and completeness of deposit records.
Performs regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy.
Reconciles balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Identifies and addresses any variances or discrepancies.
Processes invoices accurately and timely.
Reviews vendor statements and reconciles discrepancies.
Serves as backup for check runs when necessary.
Reviews outstanding checks and addresses any issues.
Provides support for payroll processing as needed.
Ensures accuracy of payroll data and compliance with company policies.
Collaborates with internal and external auditors to provide requested documentation and support.
Assists in preparing audit schedules and reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting roles.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
