Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Plant Controller to join our client. The Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the plant facility, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in manufacturing or plant accounting roles and be capable of providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide insightful commentary on financial performance, identifying key drivers and trends.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate with plant management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and variance analysis, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation and drive cost efficiencies.

Cost Accounting:
  • Establish and maintain accurate cost accounting systems.
  • Analyze production costs, overhead expenses, and inventory levels.
  • Implement cost control measures to enhance profitability and minimize waste.

Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and cycle counting processes.
  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce inventory carrying costs while ensuring adequate supply.

Financial Controls:
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance financial transparency and accountability.

Business Partnering:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational decision-making.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to assist in strategic planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to plant management, offering guidance on financial matters.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and cost accounting methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
