UHY is assisting a Client based in Rochester, NY who is seeking an Income Tax Controller to join their team! The ideal candidate will have experience with Tax, 704(b)'s, and Trust experience.
The Income Tax Controller position is On-Site Monday through Friday. This is a Client Direct Hire position.
Income Tax Controller Responsibilities:
Accounting:
1. Lead and oversee the consolidation accounting process for financial reporting and tax purposes.
2. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Tax regulations in all consolidation activities.
3. Income Tax Planning and Compliance:
Develop and implement effective income tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filing of all required tax returns.
4. 704 B Capital Accounts:
Take ownership of tracking and maintaining 704 B capital accounts in accordance with industry standards.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of capital transactions.
6. Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
Provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making processes.
7. Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain robust internal controls related to income tax and consolidation accounting.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
Income Tax Controller Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on income tax and consolidation accounting.
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and Tax regulations.
Strong understanding of 704 B capital accounts and related tracking processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
