As they gear up for upcoming acquisitions, our client is seeking a Controller to help shape the financial landscape of three existing business units.
Leading a team of dedicated accountants, you'll ensure metrics are met and accountability is maintained. This role isn't just about numbers; it's about influence and collaboration. With 25-50% travel involved, you'll engage with stakeholders firsthand, driving results and making a significant impact.
As Controller, you'll oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, steer the monthly close, and provide financial direction to improve site performance. Join the team to continue driving company growth and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support for global business growth.
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
Complete balance sheet reconciliation.
Load financial results in Hyperion.
Handle budgeting and forecasting.
Manage the financial month-end close process.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reporting with insightful commentary.
Perform financial analysis and compare current results to the prior year and plan.
Create and prepare financial analysis reports.
Conduct product costing analysis.
Track and communicate capital expenditure projects.
Review excess and obsolete inventory.
Manage accounts receivable collection.
Generate ad hoc reports as needed.
Assist departments and other business unit accounting personnel.
Lead and manage accounting staff.
Undertake special projects assigned by the General Manager or CFO of North America.
Assist with future North American acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
Foster daily communication rapport with Business Unit General Managers, addressing financial issues and strategic direction.
Provide financial training and support to General Managers to enhance their interpretation and utilization of financial results.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, with major coursework in business, finance, or accounting.
6+ years of accounting/financial experience within manufacturing and/or fabrication companies, including distribution.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (V look-ups, pivot tables), Word, and Outlook; experience with Hyperion and QuickBooks.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
Deadline-driven, high-energy individual capable of working autonomously and leading as a key contributor on teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills are a must, along with a willingness to accept and take ownership of new responsibilities in a fast-growing environment.
The ability to work independently is crucial.
Occasional travel required.
Salary Range
$100-120k
