The Rad Tech (X-Ray) Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.
Duties
Operate x-ray scanners
Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations
Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures
Take patient medical history before an exam
Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated
Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients
Any other assigned task
Qualifications
Able to operate sophisticated computer equipment
Certified by the state of South Carolina to work imaging
Able to interact compassionately and effectively with the sick or injured
Able to communicate effectively
Able to perform well independently
Able to follow detailed instructions
Skills Needed
Highly self-motivated
High School graduate or equivalent
Current BLS
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved
Have met requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists (ARRT)
Lifting Requirements: Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
