Job Description
Manages and fosters the two-way flow of information between the company, its shareholders, and the financial community.

Acts as a spokesperson for the company to introduce, position and proactively market the company to investors. Responsible for all aspects of Investor Relations, including executing the Company's IR program, helping shape and effectively communicate the company's strategic direction, and establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key analysts and the investment community. Develops strategies and implements programs to keep the financial community current on company performance and industry trends. Advises company management and board of directors about financial and industry trends, shareholder concerns, and competitor actions that might impact the company.

Develops and implements a best practice investor relations program, including preparation of press releases, quarterly financial releases, company presentations, conference call scripts and related materials.

Plans and manages the investor relations event calendar, including investor conferences, road shows, and quarterly earnings calls.

Maintains competitive database and prepares detailed quarterly analysis of key competitor results for internal distribution and analysis.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for buy-side and sell-side
  • Extensive interaction and collaboration with the CFO and CEO, Communications, Finance and other internal groups to develop communication programs and strategies.
  • Develop expertise on the core businesses, identify key business drivers, understand strategic priorities, competitive landscape, etc.
  • Monitor financial results and news from key competitors and prepare detailed comparative analysis.
  • Very strong analytical skills, including highly proficient financial modelling skills; develop analytical models for market data, operating metrics and financial performance in collaboration with Finance.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, Legal, and the executive management team to gather data for external communications, annual reports, and other internal and public disclosures.
  • Prepare materials for investor events, including one-on-one investor meetings, analyst conferences, marketing road shows, annual shareholder meetings and investor/analyst days.
  • Review and analyze sell-side research and models to monitor changes in ratings/price targets/estimates and comparison of consensus estimates to internal forecasts.
  • Assist with related special projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in investor relations, equity research, capital markets for public companies.
Skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with an ability to identify trends in financial data and develop creative solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial modeling and valuation concepts and techniques used by analysts and investors.
  • Power user of Excel with experience with PowerPoint, Word and Bloomberg or Capital IQ and Nasdaq IR Insight.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
