Senior Construction Representative (Mechanical, Piping)
Location: Batavia, OH (onsite)
Initial term: 12 months (position expected to run longer / may transition to permanent)
Overtime is expected (paid at 1.5x/hr)
Project: New food manufacturing plant under construction, outer shell is complete and the plant is now being fitted out.
The team is looking for two Senior Construction Field Representatives to oversee the Mechanical/Piping construction for a new dry food plant construction.
MUST HAVE: Mechanical Piping construction experience in a food/CPG manufacturing environment.
The Construction Field Representative contractor will provide onsite professional services, including providing engineering inspection and control to support quality workmanship, safe environment, job project staffing, schedule adherence, QA/QC activities and follow up action items. The Construction Field Representative will provide daily and weekly reports to the Site Management Team. Activities will include but not be limited to the following:
Coordinate daily installation activities with construction contractors while effectively communicating to all stakeholders
Manage the extra work order (EWO) process to include updating and tracking the EWO log
Ensure subcontractors weekly quality control inspection reports are completed - inclusive of weekly tests and inspection on key areas
Set and drive a culture of safety, communication, teamwork and accountability
Be in the field supporting all aspects of project execution based on daily schedule and look-ahead schedule to mitigate risk, hold contractors accountable to installation quality and workmanship
Ensure a safe working environment based on H&S specifications
Evaluation of welding, reinforcing steel, underground piping, concrete: testing and observation, equipment, alignment, fabricated items, insulation (pipe covering), labeling (pipe & equipment), cost codes (If issued to field)
Review design vs. installation planning in the field to ensure proper installation and avoid clashes
Build and/or maintain critical path schedules to ensure program status is communicated to appropriate stakeholders - including critical look-aheads for overall project & sub-projects
Validating and performing redlines for final as-built documentation
Day to Day "Spokesperson" with Contractors, Plant, Engineering (including contracted consulting firms), Vendor representatives
Make sure the latest (or correct) drawings are being used
Discrepancy reports
Accident report review and approval
Weekly job meetings with published notes
Punchlist "Focus" for plant, contractor, engineering
Construction and value engineering review
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:
PMP, PMI, GAC, CCM, CMCI, CMAA or similar is preferred
OSHA 30
CPR Training
Fall Protection
Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years Construction Management experience in the field. MUST HAVE: Mechanical Piping construction experience in a food/CPG manufacturing environment.
Experience managing projects through all phases of construction
Requires experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Food manufacturing construction experience strongly preferred
Skills:
Minimum of 3 years software applications experience: MS Office 365 including Teams, SharePoint; BIM360
