What You'll Do:
Primarily responsible for liaising with service providers for the preparation and filing of all federal, state and local direct and indirect tax returns, as well as assisting with Group compliance and planning for the preparation and review of ASC 740 income tax provision under US GAAP for provisioning purposes.
Essential Functions:
Preparation and review of US GAAP ASC 740 income tax provision on a quarterly and annual basis to ensure compliance with ASC 740, FIN18/APB 28 and FIN 48, including assisting the Vice President with the coordination of the consolidated tax provision and related tax footnote disclosures.
Collect, analyze and prepare all data required to file U.S. income tax return filings both federal and states, as well as sales and use, property, B&O and excise tax returns as applicable, being the first point of contact with external advisors and conduct detail return review.
Identify tax efficiencies and process improvements with respect to various compliance processes.
Manage and maintain notice logs, tax filing calendar and payments, leading external advisors with respect to timing of preparation of various filings to achieve on time filings.
Preparation of all US information reporting and documentary requirements such as tax residency certificates, tax registrations, state and local sales tax exemption forms, Form 1099 reporting, etc.
Preparation and assistance with preparation of FATCA forms, including Forms W9, W8BENE and W8IMY.
Collect, analyze and prepare data required to file Group Form 1120F.
Assist Vice President Tax with Federal, state and local direct and indirect tax audits.
Assist Vice President Tax with research and writing of tax position memorandums.
What You Bring:
Educational/Experience:
At least eight years' experience in taxation compliance, preferably within industry/ financial services or big four firm.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferably active).
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Master's in US Taxation (preferred) or Accounting if does not hold active CPA License.
Technical/Functional:
Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 accounting for income taxes and have accounting skills and understanding of U.S. GAAP.
Understanding of U.S. federal and multi-state income tax laws and regulations.
Excellent research, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
Well organized, diligent and detail orientated.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and use of electronic tax research.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent understanding of information systems and in particular Oracle and OneStream, CCH, BNA or RIA.
