In this client-facing role, you'll be responsible for managing workflow, collaborating with colleagues, and producing high-quality work products. You'll also have the opportunity to interact with clients directly, providing them with the highest level of service and support.
Responsibilities:
Review and prepare federal and multi-state partnership tax returns for real estate and private equity clients, with a focus on related tax concepts such as partner transfers, Section 754, waterfall provisions/partner allocations, and nonresident state tax withholding
Research and analyze tax technical issues, including the creation of new partnership entities, buyouts/mergers, and other structuring matters
Delegate workflow to staff and oversee work products to ensure timely completion
Regularly interact with clients, providing timely responses to their requests and questions
Communicate with federal and state taxing authorities regarding nonresident tax withholding, client penalty notices, and other items
Address ad-hoc needs of clients, including analyses of potential tax implications from planned transactions, per-partner distribution calculations, state withholding items, etc.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
8+ years of experience preferred
Prior partnership tax preparation experience with real estate and/or private equity clients, including the preparation of multi-state tax returns
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Thorough knowledge of CCH ProSystem FX, Excel, and Word
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
