We're looking to add an experienced Auditor specializing in Employee Benefit Plans to our team in Canfield, Ohio!
Primary duties include:
The team member's focus will be on servicing the firm's employee benefit plan clients, which includes auditing 401(k), 403(b), pension, ESOP and health and welfare plans, in addition to payroll compliance audits.
Gain knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations.
Conduct audit tests which assess compliance with plan document and regulatory requirements.
Draft employee benefit plan financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Preparation of applicable tax returns including Forms 5500, 990, and 8955-SSA.
Maintaining active communication and positive interaction with clients, service providers, and firm personnel to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction and manage projects effectively.
Be given the opportunity to become a well-rounded EBP professional with audit, tax, and consulting experience through internal training, as well as attendance of industry events and trainings.
Develop self and other team members through seeking and offering on the job coaching and engagement experiences.
Candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting
Minimum of 2-3 years of auditing experience at a public accounting firm
Experience working on employee benefit plan audits and knowledge of applicable DOL, IRS, and ERISA regulations
Experience performing audits of Taft-Hartley plans and payroll compliance audits is a plus
CPA preferred
Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, strong ethics and business conduct
Ability to multitask and prioritize, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships through all levels of the organization
