In short, the same qualities we look for in our people. We are looking for a Raw Material Inventory Coordinator to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana!

What you will work on:


  • Tracks and Calculates Recycle Content/Purchased Scrap Consumption vs. Target (certification); Maintain Recycle Content File

  • Develop Physical Inventory System/Segregation

  • Conduct Scrap Segregation Audits/Own Process
  • SPA for Electronic Inventory Management System
  • Leader for Annual/Semi-Annual Physical Inventory
  • Alloys – Ordering and Inventory Management (Mg Declaration)
  • Own Dock (5 employees, procedures, changes, expectations, supplies, etc.)
  • Process Manager for Melter -1 OA’s
  • Monitor Cold Charges at #8 Complex
  • Develop Standards for Cold Charging and Inventory Levels.
  • Month End Inventory
  • Audit Areas for Scrap Segregation
  • Own Overall Process for Internal Scrap Movement (larger system/connection issues)
  • Coordinates Deliveries at the Dock and West Field; Help with Scrap Inspections and Dock Refusals.
  • Earmarks Metal from Secondaries for Release
  • Ingot Mobile Equipment and Scale SPA
  • Oily Scrap Sample Test
  • Work directly with buyers/SCC’s/Secondaries on types/forms of inventories and acceptable scrap
  • Forecast Monthly Scrap and Pure Usage; Validate Accuracy with metal Balance
  • Furnace turn times and Melt loss studies
  • Charging practices
  • MG consumption and standards
  • Skim room dross segregation


  • Continuous Improvement – we couldn’t do it without your owner’s mindset, and all of the acronyms that come with continuous improvement, 5S, RCA and LEAN. 


  • Direction and Servant Leadership – lead and demonstrate your people skills as you provide direction and support to your team of operators.

  • The ability to work a full shift, promptness and availability to work overtime as needed.  

  • Work and perform according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position. 

  • Ability to work off-shift as required 

What you’ll bring: 


  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • 5 years' experience in an industrial scrap metals environment

  • Proven knowledge of leading safety and/or quality programs & processes 

  • Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing setting 

  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests while maintaining a culture of accountability and execution

 

It would also be great if you had:  


  • Experience in Metal Manufacturing Industry 

  • Strong technical aptitude along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with SAP 

  • BS/BA and significant related experience
