The mission of the Director of Partnership Distribution Analytics position is to provide insightful analysis, analytics, and recommendations to the Partners leadership team to drive informed, effective business decision-making. The position reports directly to head of the Partners business (Chief Partnership Officer), and will work very closely with the entire Partners management team.
The position is responsible for leading all aspects of the creation, capture, and analysis of critical data and information related to the operation of the Partners channel business. The position will develop and implement analytic solutions that enhance the ROI of all aspects of marketing, distribution, and channel management. The position will devise and implement a strategic approach for conducting quantitative analysis of partner performance (both individually and collectively) and specialty product performance, including analysis of the effectiveness of various marketing programs, compensation programs and sales practices. This position plays an important thought leadership role in the organization, and will be evaluated in part on the continuous improvement and innovation it provides in developing the role and capabilities of the Partner analytics team. As such, success will depend on strong communication skills with leadership and peer colleagues.
The position will lead the dedicated Partners analytics team, and will also serve as the liaison to other technical areas of the business including Product, Actuarial, Advanced Analytics, and Underwriting, and will work closely with IT & Operations.
This is a working management position, i.e., the role will be required to both manage a team of analysts, and act as a senior individual contributor too as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Act as the focal point for all quantitative analysis efforts for the Partners channel
Set priorities and budget resources for the Partners analytics team in consultation with Partners leadership
Develop and manage performance metrics, compensation programs, management reporting, and analysis to drive targeted results
Lead a team of people providing full support to the field marketing and specialty product management teams
Partner with the business development team to develop generic or partner specific proposals to attract potential new accounts
Analyze profitability of different segments of the auto product, and identify product and partner opportunities
Enhance reports and analysis of our digital marketing programs and our internal sales center; focus areas include improving marketing and sales processes to optimize the number of quotes, conversion rates and marketing costs needed to meet the channel's growth and profitability goals
Manage the support of all data needs required within the Partners channel
Become a thought leader on data and the use of analytic tools
Work closely with product, underwriting, advanced analytics, and other corporate teams to develop ways to achieve our strategic plan
Qualifications and Education
The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in property and casualty insurance.
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; an MBA is preferred but not required.
Advanced skills or knowledge in Excel, SQL, Tableau and relational databases.
Demonstrated ability to perform analysis that drives business initiatives.
Experience in analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data/results.
Experience and expertise with financial, statistical, marketing and insurance concepts.
Ability to balance desire for statistical rigor with realities of inconclusive business data is a must.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Ability to lead a team, and work within a team, are both crucial.
