Position Summary
Provide paralegal and administrative support in the areas of consumer finance and consumer regulatory matters, under the direction of the Senior Managing Director, Associate General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Conducts assigned research projects including federal and state consumer financial laws and regulations.
Assists in response to discovery requests and document production for litigation.
Review drafts of documents including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, loan documents.
Assists in regulatory projects and new product development sponsored by lines of business.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless service and good outcomes.
Provides advice and counsel to consumer lending and retail deposit lines of business.
Organizes training sessions for department paralegals on topical issues. Performs such other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor's, and/or Master's) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration.
Paralegal certificate required
Seven or more years of related experience
Retail banking, mortgage lending or construction lending experience preferred
Self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented
Critical thinking, evaluation and analytical skills
Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel and Word, Adobe PDF.
Strong legal research skills and experience using legal research tools such as Lexis Nexis or Westlaw
the ability to interact with outside counsel in a professional manner.
Must write well and have strong organizational skills
Ability to work well independently and exercise good judgment
High degree of technical aptitude and proficiency
The estimated salary range for this position is $35.00/hr USD to $45.00/hr USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
