Job Description:

The University of Richmond Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures invites applications for the position of Teaching Faculty in French, beginning August 2024. This is a non-tenure-track, continuing 9-month position (subject to annual review).

The Teaching Faculty member in French will teach in our French intensive language program and contribute to both the major and the minor in French. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring student-led organizations in French and will be expected to participate in the design of engaging and innovative instructional materials for the French program. The teaching load is the equivalent of 8 teaching units per year. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the general education and first-year seminar programs. The successful candidate should hold, by the start date, a Ph.D. in French language, literature, linguistics, or a related area. Superior proficiency in French is required. Experience teaching at the college level is strongly preferred.
