JOB DESCRIPTION



Wood is currently recruiting for a talented individual to help lead our Renewables Technical Advisory Services in the US. While the team's focus is on onshore and offshore renewables transactions and investments, it's technology coverage is broad, advising on service providers, developers and development platforms, projects and technologies that span hybrid renewables, green hydrogen and power-to-x.

As a Sr Principal Consultant in Advisory Services, USA, you will be at the center of Wood's Technical Advisory Services strategy, connected to digital, data, engineering, and project delivery, and other parts of the business to enable you to unlock growth and market capture.

This is an exciting leadership role with responsibility for leading Wood's renewables and energy transition technical advisory services delivery in the US. You will lead the development and delivery of strategic growth plans to establish and expand the existing Clean Energy Advisory Services business within the renewables, green hydrogen and power-to-x markets. We are looking for an experienced candidate with a strong background in renewable energy advisory services and a robust knowledge of the onshore and offshore markets. A highly motivated individual with technical experience and strong business acumen, who is interested in making a mark in a growing international organization, will thrive in this role.



RESPONSIBILITIES



Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategy for growth and penetration in the evolving clean energy industry and related industries
  • Expand the breadth and scope of clean energy advisory services provided through new hires, subcontractors and strategic partnerships
  • Increase annual throughput of the advisory service offering and drive team growth activities
  • Lead the management of strong and enduring high-level relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure strategy delivery and position for future opportunities
  • Collaboratively support Clients and Wood's execution team on the delivery of due diligence assessment and prioritization on critical client/market touch points
  • Provide thought leadership and industry engagement via conference presentations and webinars
  • Technical oversight of the execution team by way of approver and contributor to the execution plan, methodology and throughout delivery





QUALIFICATIONS



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Renewables-related discipline required, Masters degree an asset
  • 10+ years of experience working in the clean energy consulting space
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (solar energy analysis and due diligence) under project finance scopes of work
  • Strong ability to mentor team members, provide feedback, and guide professional development
  • Strong interest and ability to network and find solutions for clients and partners
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering standards, best practices and safety regulations
  • Willingness for occasional worldwide travel
  • Must be a US citizen or have authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood
