Job Description:

At this time, Spencer Ogden is working with a leading single-source supplier of electrical substation construction. With that said, we are looking for a Substation Project Manager! Please read the details about the position below.

Job Summary: The Substation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of substation projects. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Job Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $70/hr-$75/hr

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
  1. Design and Engineering:
  • Review and approve substation design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure that design meets project requirements and industry standards.
  1. Construction Management:
  • Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  1. Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor project progress and identify potential issues or risks.
  1. Budget and Cost Management:
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and present project financial reports to senior management and clients.
  1. Stakeholder Communication:
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to provide updates on project status, resolve issues, and address concerns.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to ensure effective collaboration and alignment with project objectives.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans and strategies to minimize potential impacts on project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation design, construction, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of substation equipment, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
