Job Description

The Product Development Engineer works with the design teams within medmix segments to create, design and manage product ideas. Using their knowledge of various phases of the product development cycle, this position strengthen technical core competencies and help develop new technologies and products in the field of fluid handling systems.

Qualifications

Main accountabilities and tasks
  • Technically driven
  • Plan, perform and document technical part of Concept Development Projects (CDP)
  • Plan, perform and document workstreams to strengthen technical core competencies (TEC Maturity Matrix)
  • Support Product Development Projects (PDP) with technical expertise and investigations.
  • Discover new technologies for product and process related innovations for the strategic business segments Adhesives, Dental and Healthcare.
  • Observe market and new product developments in the strategic business segments Adhesives, Dental and Healthcare.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with strategic innovation partners in science and business.
  • Support internal stakeholders (Sales, Product Management, Quality, Operations etc) with technical and product related expertise
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations regarding environmental protection, occupational safety, health protection and fire prevention
  • Ensuring that ESH deficiencies and ESH risks (concerning working and operating materials as well as the working environment) that cannot be eliminated by the company itself are reported to the supervisor, the ESH manager.

Desired experience and qualifications

Work experience: 5 years in an injection molding manufacturing environment

Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or comparable engineering

Other:
  • Knowledge in the field of injection molds, injection molding production
  • Knowledge in leading a project
  • Knowledge in product development for consumable plastic products.
  • Knowledge of medical devices an asset.
  • German language an asset
  • Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong TEAM and LEAD mentality required
  • Quality orientation and high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Complex problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
  • Ability to work Independently
