This position is responsible for the design and execution of the Global Tenneco Industrial Hygiene Program. The position may be based in Northville, Michigan or remotely and reports directly to an EHS Director of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Updates and maintains the global Industrial Hygiene Program and database
Advises on the creation and modifications of site-level sampling plans
Advises on various methods to manage and reduce risk to meet business requirements
Leads the execution of scalable solutions to manage systemic risks across the organization
Develops and tracks KPIs and leads performance improvement initiatives in the Industrial Hygiene sector
Manages the relationship between Industrial Hygiene preferred vendors including: selection of vendors, contracts execution, supporting scheduling of services, and overall consultant management
Prepares and presents program updates to the executive leadership team
Mentors EHS and Operations partners to improve Industrial Hygiene acumen
Liaises with Federal or State OSHA and other regulatory agencies
Ability and willingness to travel 25-50% of the time
Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related science discipline is required. Master's degree in one of these topics is preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience; Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) accreditation is preferred. Must have experience performing Industrial Hygiene in a manufacturing setting and leading cross - functional teams. Must have experience measuring and mitigating risks for airborne, ergonomic, noise, and other hazards.
