Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Project Engineer is responsible for planning, conducting, coordinating and performing various engineering duties on multiple projects-new and existing.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Accepts engineering responsibility for all assigned projects.
  2. Must demonstrate good communication skills to coordinate activities with other departments, locations, suppliers, and customers.
  3. Must be proficient to create and understand engineering drawings and CAD data.
  4. Conducts value analysis and FMEA studies
  5. Submits timely schedules and technical reports in support of projects.
  6. Monitors project programs to achieve project goals and satisfy quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  7. Examines designs for patentable features and prepares the necessary disclosures.
  8. Works with engineering staff members at customer locations in the development of designs, specifications, and requirements.
  9. Complete the various project activities within the established budget and completion dates.
  10. Assists manufacturing as requested in achieving cost targets, process improvement, meeting production schedules, and solving production problems.
  11. Depending on assignments, may be required to specify, procure, and/or develop test instrumentation, fixturing, and equipment for product evaluations.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

This work is performed in a general office environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and one (1) to four (4) years experience in related field

-or-
  • A Master's Degree and generally one (1) to three (3) years experience in related field.

  • Certification required in some areas.

  • Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.

  • Have good communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.

  • Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.

  • Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
