JOB TITLE:Lean Manufacturing Manager

FLSA STATUS:Exempt

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager / Operation Director

GENERAL SUMMARY

The job requires a management professional having strong manufacturing background and strong skills in continuous improvement and efficiencies across HMUS's products, systems, operations, and processes. This Professional would lead the Lean process improvement activities in the plant in United States, in coordination with global teams. This professional would directly report to plant manager, Regional operations Director and Global Manufacturing Head to achieve the required plant KPI target set by General Head Quarters (GHQ). This Professional would also work with multifunction teams in the plant team to develop and improve plant lean operation system including manufacturing and material management systems.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Working with the Senior Management Team, develop and implement business transformational and continuous improvement strategy. Outline direction and deployment of the Lean framework to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practice. Responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives across the business, ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

To achieve this goal, He/She must cover those areas:

Strategy and Development

Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

General and Task Management

Work as part of the management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with company and customer requirements.

Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Lean strategy.

Lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve performance, such as the planning and running of lean events.

Undertake business process analysis, statistical analysis for improvement projects and to support wider change.

Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success.

Coach and facilitate teams and individuals to identify and implement improvement opportunities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:

A degree (relevant to manufacturing / engineering is preferred) and generally 8 plus years of experience in a manufacturing and manufacturing Engineering preferably Automotive manufacturing Field.

People management and project management

Master Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent qualification is advantageous.

Have experience working with integrated computer programs (ERP) and/or applications.

Have strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and possess the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.

Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software. Excellent leadership and man- management skills

Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Excellent organizational and follow-up skills

Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
