  • Not interested in General contractor with no Waterworks experience or limited as the contracts are managed differently.
  • Not interested in a background in commercial, residential, or tenant improvement.

Experience: Must have solid experience in waterworks, including expertise in underground, mechanical, and concrete work.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in PlanSwift and Bluebeam essential; strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel required. Experience with AutoCAD or Agtek is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Description: My client is seeking an experienced Senior Waterworks Plant Estimator to join their innovative construction team. They offer a unique environment that fosters individual growth and rewards performance. The workplace is dynamic and offers a variety of projects that challenge staff to work collaboratively.

The successful candidate will work in unison with the Chief Estimator, Division Manager, and company ownership to guarantee precise project estimates and the efficient execution of work. This role is ideal for someone who is diligent, attentive to detail, and capable of innovative thinking in multi-staged construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive estimating services for large, complex water treatment plant and heavy civil construction projects.
  • Ensure thorough consideration and accurate pricing of factors in project estimates, compiling them into a cohesive summary.
  • Perform site visits and investigations, as well as constructability studies.
  • Research services to ascertain methods, costs, and construction techniques.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years in construction, with 3-5 years dedicated to estimating.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A robust work ethic, with the ability to function independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to identify discrepancies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid.
  • Skilled in Blue Beam, On-Screen Takeoff, and Agtek.
  • Experience with Alternative Delivery Methods, including CMAR, CMGC, Design-Build, and Progressive Design Build.

Interview Process:

After a screening interview with me, resumes will be presented to the Lead Project Manager and then will be passed to the Sr. Manager; if the Sr. Manager is interested in interviewing the candidate, we will schedule a Phone/Person/ Video, depending on the candidate's availability. Will likely have 2-3 interviews with the company before the offer.

  • Kaiser or Blue Shield, EE/ER contribution plan deducted from weekly paycheck, 401K through Principal 100 percent match up to 5%. Dental insurance offered.
  • Will be offered a company SUV or car allowance - $750/month vehicle allowance + gas card OR company vehicle and gas card.
  • Schedule / Work site: Monday - Friday - 90% of the time will be working from office and out in the field, some potential for remote, but not within the first 90 days. Work Location is in Sacramento.
