As a Product Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge production processes that drive engineering excellence, efficiency and innovation for our San Marcos facilities. You'll be at the forefront of projects that push the boundaries of manufacturing technology through collaboration with cross-functional teams to support our operations and meet budget and schedule targets.
Your contributions will directly impact our production capabilities, drive cost-savings, throughput enhancements and quality improvements. From leading cost-saving initiatives to participating in continuous improvement projects, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future success of Thermon.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, delivering engineering support and capital investment projects throughout the project life cycle; driving project quality, on-time deliverables at a competitive cost.
Take the lead on various cost-saving projects and initiatives, driving conversion cost targets and maximizing efficiency throughout the production process. Troubleshoots problems and provides recommendations on appropriate course of action.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, unlocking throughput and employee engagement through innovative solutions and best practices.
Play an active role on our Environmental Compliance team, support safety initiatives, and participate in Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA).
Have ownership of cycle time data accuracy and improvement/reduction.
Strive to constantly improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on internal and external quality findings to implement corrective action plans and investigate process and safety incidents. Design and implement solutions to close PHA and RCA gaps.
Manage Product Set-Ups and Scale-Ups from R&D and Marketing.
Coordinate and interact with suppliers and plant staff for installation, commissioning, and post-commissioning activities.
Implement changes following the Management of Change process.
Update plant procedures as required.
Coach, train, and mentor junior engineers, co-ops and associates.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing industry experience
Minimum 3 years experience with 3D modeling software (Solidworks, Autocad, etc.)
Experience in a technical role in an operational environment
Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels and teams of the organization, our customers and third parties
Must be comfortable working on individual projects as well as participating in a team across various functions to deliver results on tight timelines
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of industry experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) design
Working knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems
SAP, PSM, and PHA experience
Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA requirements Excellent mathematics and IT skills
Knowledge and experience of relevant Safety, Health and Environmental regulations
Project management and contractor management experience
Strong grasp of Management of Change processes
Excellent mathematics and IT skills
Understand batch processes
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Knowledge of PSM, EPA, TCEQ and DOT regulations
Experience in electrical or automation industry
Experience with assembly and sheet metal operations
Experience supporting a high mix, medium volume or job-shop organization

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with equipment.
Ability to motivate, direct and communicate with engineers, production and crafts personnel
Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and loop diagrams
Self-Motivated, willing to learn.
Proficiency in presenting information to management and customers
