Our client is a large alternative asset manager and SEC-registered investment adviser. They are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to sit with their team in Los Angeles, CA. The professional in this role will be responsible for a wide variety of portfolio-level reporting and analytics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a database of portfolio company and fund level information
Ongoing portfolio-level reporting and risk analysis for both internal and external distribution (monthly dashboards, credit facility reporting, etc.)
Liaise with borrowers, administrative agents and internal accountants to facilitate funding and closing of transactions
Review portfolio company financial statements. Perform analysis of financial performance, loan covenants and other credit statistics
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial review packages of loan investments utilizing company prepared financial statements and internal reporting and valuation models
Prepare allocation analysis and allocation workbooks across several funding vehicles and ensure compliance with the governing documents of each vehicle
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and ad-hoc reports including investor requests and fundraising materials
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/economics/math/computer science (or related degree)
1-3 years of relevant industry experience. Public accounting, investment banking experience and/or formal credit training is preferred
Knowledge of loan terms and structures, credit documentation, and financial statement analysis
Advanced Excel skills
Exceptional quantitative and modeling skills. Ability to conceptualize and learn complex financial data
Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize multiple sources of information
Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure
Adherence to strict reporting deadlines
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
