What You Will Contribute:




The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.


Badger Meter is hiring a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Intern. The Software Quality Assurance Intern will assist the software quality team in preparing software for testing, testing products for release, documenting of test results, and assisting with test automation. The intern will work alongside the software development team as well as other departments to assist with New Product Development. The SQA intern will work in software automation writing code, as well as identify discrepancies in the testing process.



Essential Job Duties:



  • Setting up testing systems hardware, and verify that the test system is ready to begin


  • Creating test data sets


  • Executing the steps of the test case and recording the results to assemble the test results into documents for product release


  • Alerting SQA personnel when systems are not performing correctly


  • Analyzing results over multiple runs to determine product performance trends


  • Working with other test engineers to design the automated test implementing the automated test (or portions of a test) as directed by a team member


  • Coding automated tests using common programming languages (Java, Python)


  • Natural curiosity and the ability to creatively problem solve during the testing process





Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field


  • No OPT/H1B students accepted at this time


  • WI resident or WI college students strongly preferred


  • No Master's degree students accepted at this time


  • Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products


  • Experience with object oriented programming (Python, Java, JavaScript)


  • Experience with Agile environment is a plus


  • Experience with JIRA/GitHub is preferred


  • Experience with AWS/Azure is a plus
