The Basics:

We are looking to bring on a Competitive Intelligence Manager for the IT Operations side of the Tanium Platform. This will require someone who is able to effectively research and communicate to the Senior Manager and our field, their analysis of specific competitors as well as different niches and overall trends. The ideal person in this role has a unique background that has led them to this junction. You will need to be highly knowledgeable in IT Operations specific to endpoints and cloud services, love keeping up with the industry, and have strong research and communication capabilities to succeed in this role.

What you'll do:


  • Be able to clearly talk about different IT operations areas eg. both in public and on paper
  • Be organized and deliver what you say you will deliver when you say you will do it
  • Present and persuade the IT operations portfolio Product Management teams to influence product direction
  • Educate the field on why organizations need Tanium's IT operations solutions
  • Produce well organized and useful content for the field to help enable their success with customers
  • Attend events and identify Tanium areas of strength and areas for improvement
  • Stay updated on the IT Operations competitive landscape and educate the field on Tanium's positioning
  • This is not simply creating battlecards with feature matrices
  • Help Product Marketing Managers produce sales plays for the field
  • Work with Marketing Ops for leading indicators that customers are ready for a security solution to build the ideal customer profile

We're looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years in the IT Ops industry in areas relevant to endpoints, asset inventory, policy configuration, patching, cloud services, or data management.
  • Experience in adjacent markets is a plus (Digital Employee Experience (DEX), SBOM, and Security)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and SharePoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Technical acumen is needed
  • Public speaking experience is a plus
  • Sales engineering experience is a strong plus
  • Writing examples are a plus

What you'll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $220,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
